PG32 Transcript - Kitchen
Tyler: Hi everyone and welcome to the first Pukka German podcast from Munich. Our move from Freiburg went well and after a week of unpacking boxes, assembling and arranging furniture - a sense of normality is finally returning to our lives. Although we'll both miss the beautiful city of Freiburg with its green forest surroundings and vibrant student atmosphere, we are both excited about discovering and exploring the abundant possibilities in Bayern's cosmopolitan capital city.
Tyler: In Germany you may be surprised to discover that when people move out of their apartments they often take the entire kitchen with them. Unfurnished really means unfurnished!
So, genug geredet! Fangen wir mit dem heutigen Podcast an.
English 1: Who needs a new kitchen with more than good looks?
Perhaps someone who is always looking for the garlic press.
It has to be somewhere, but where? Drawer open, drawer closed, scrabbled at the top, rummaged at the bottom. You've hunted high and low from corner to corner. Sound familiar?
English 2: And to think it could all be so easy - with a kitchen that magically makes things vanish and appear, instead of having you run around unnecessarily. We've racked our brains to find ways to make daily kitchen routines easier - so that your kitchen really becomes the best and most comfortable workplace for you.
English 3: Should your kitchen rather be snazzy or savvy? Both of course! Plan a kitchen that you'll be completely happy with because it craftily meets all your needs and at the same time looks simply stunning.
English 4: Too many cooks?
No such thing.
Quite the opposite: the more the merrier! When the whole family gets together, the kitchen is the best, most lively and comfy place in the world - assuming everything goes smoothly of course and everyone has enough space!
Ikea's English Catalogue Version: Who needs a new kitchen with more than good looks?
Perhaps someone who can't find the garlic press...
It's there somewhere, but where? Why pull out all the drawers and walk from one end to the other, hunting high and low? Far better to let the kitchen itself make things simple for you in the first place, and cut out as much unnecessary running around as possible.
We've done a lot of thinking about how to make life a little easier here and there - all so that you kitchen is the best and most convenient workplace you could possibly need.
If you're dreaming of a new kitchen, dream of one that copes with the demands of your everyday life as smoothly as possible. At IKEA, you can be sure it will look fantastic, too. So you can have your garlic bread and eat it.
Too many cooks?
No such thing.
We say the more the merrier. When the whole family is together, the kitchen is at it's best. Its liveliest. Its cosiest. Its happiest! But with all this activity, a kitchen needs to run smoothly. With solutions that make space for everyone.

In Extremo - 7 Köche
Man hört den Chefkoch
Reden schwingen
Ihm könnte ganz allein gelingen
Wozu normalerweise ist gedungen
Eine große Schar von Küchenjungen
Jene denken: Menschenskind!
Wie er das wohl zuwege bringt?
Was von Herzen kommt gelingt
Eins, zwei, eins, zwei, eins, zwei, drei
Sieben Köche kochen Brei
Die Moral, wie edler Wein
Wohl bekomm's, wir laden ein!
Ein Königsmahl das kocht man nicht
Mit einer Zutat nur allein
So wuchs die Angst vor ihrer Pflicht
Erhielt dann krähend ein Gericht
Grinst aus der Ecke sehr gerissen
Weil nun das Rudel dienstbeflissen.
Was von Herzen kommt gelingt
Eins, zwei, eins, zwei, eins, zwei, drei
Sieben Köche kochen Brei
Die Moral, wie edler Wein
Wohl bekomm's, wir laden ein!
Man würzt gemeinsam scharf dazu
Auch etwas Mich der Heiligen Kuh
Formt auf dem Glastisch süße Torten
Hat gut geschwatzt mit spitzen Worten
Weil oben alles emsig wieselt
Manches hektisch zu Boden rieselt
Was von Herzen kommt gelingt
Eins, zwei, eins, zwei, eins, zwei, drei
Sieben Köche kochen Brei
Die Moral, wie edler Wein
Wohl bekomm's, wir laden ein!
