PG31 Transcript – Sixth sense

Lisa: Tyler, was ist los mit dir? Du schaust so betrübt! Was geht dir gerade durch den Sinn?

Tyler: I was just thinking about Gina. It was almost as if I had a sixth sense. She was on my mind yesterday so I called her up and it turns out that her childhood friend James was killed in a tragic car accident a few days ago.

Lisa: Oh je, das ist ja schrecklich! Eigentlich wollte ich sie zu unserer Party am Wochenende einladen aber danach steht ihr jetzt sicherlich nicht der Sinn.

Tyler: You're right. It's understandable that she has no desire to meet with people – she sounded terribly depressed. In fact, I'm really worried about her and had the feeling she was questioning the meaning of life.

Lisa: Wenn eine Person stirbt, die einem so nahe stand, dauert es seine Zeit bis man es schafft, seinem Leben wieder einen neuen Sinn zu geben. Ich weiß nicht was ich tun würde, wenn dir so etwas passiert wäre.

Tyler: Her mom answered the phone, and told me what had happened and warned me that since the accident, Gina has totally taken leave of her senses.

Lisa: Hat sie dir denn erzählt wie der Unfall passiert ist?

Tyler: Apparently he had had a few too many drinks and shouldn't have been behind the wheel at all.

Lisa: Nein, das will mir nicht in den Sinn. Ich glaube nicht, dass James betrunken Auto gefahren ist. So etwas hat er nie getan!

Tyler: Okay, but at the end of the day there is no point arguing over the cause of the accident. That's not gonna bring him back.

Lisa: Du hast Recht. Es ist wirklich nicht Sinn und Zweck der Sache lange über die Unfallursache zu debattieren. Wir sollten uns lieber überlegen, wie wir Gina in ihrer Situation helfen können. Oh, da kommt mir etwas in den Sinn! Sie wollte doch immer mal ins Theater. Ich lade sie einfach dieses Wochenende dazu ein. Ich hoffe, dass ist in ihrem Sinne.

Tyler: Yes, I am sure she that will be in her interests and she'll definitely appreciate it.
